Beacon Capital Management was founded in July 2000 with the goal of providing long-term investors innovative portfolio management solutions that work to capture gains while seeking to limit losses from market volatility. In addition to investment management services, the firm seeks to empower advisors with turnkey marketing, operational, and account management support. 

Since the late 1990s, investors have witnessed the dramatic cycles of the financial markets—record highs followed by double-digit losses. This rollercoaster has caused many to make emotional decisions about their money frequently resulting in buying high and selling low, or seeking “safer” null-performing options such as bonds and CDs. It’s a new financial reality—it requires a new approach to investment management. Beacon Capital Management was born from the dissatisfaction of traditional money management firms who often continue to expose their investor clients to the extreme highs and lows of the market and simply tell them to hold on for the ride.  

A fundamental approach to portfolio management

Beacon Capital Management is a next-generation registered investment advisory (RIA) firm and turnkey asset management program (TAMP) dedicated to fundamentally improving the science of investing for fee-based financial advisors and institutions and the clients they serve. 

Beacon designs and manages investment portfolios based on research from Nobel-Prize winning scholars, mathematical formulas, and mechanical execution strategies. Each portfolio model offers proprietary risk management solutions, with a driving goal of working to deliver consistent returns for the mid to long-term investor. Sammons Financial Group Further Develops Registered Investment Advisor Channel

WEST DES MOINES, IA – March 24, 2021 – Sammons® Financial Group, Inc. has named Cooper Sinclair to the position of associate vice president, Sales and Distribution for RIA Distribution. In his new role, Sinclair will be responsible to further develop and lead the strategic direction of Sammons Financial Group’s fee-based Registered Investment Advisor, or RIA, channel. Core position functions include establishing and growing sales and distribution opportunities and identifying and executing initiatives that build the fee-based RIA business of Sammons Financial Group’s member companies.

“We have spent considerable energy in developing our RIA channel,” said Rob TeKolste, president, Sammons Independent Annuity Group. “In the past year, we have launched two new fee-based fixed index annuity products, built relationships with financial services leaders in the RIA space, and introduced an exciting, new Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) index for our products in the RIA market. The time is right to further grow this area of expertise and our team’s strength.”

Sinclair joins Sammons Financial Group from Prudential Financial where he led its national RIA strategy. He will work closely with the leadership team to develop innovative insurance products and technology platforms that support fee-based advisors. He will specifically identify, network, and develop new distribution opportunities for the Midland National brand of Sammons Financial Group.

As one of a small number of insurance executives with experience in both RIA strategy creation and successful RIA sales execution, Sinclair has broad sales and distribution experience. At Prudential, he built the company’s RIA wholesaling team and broker-of-record desk, guided the development of RIA-specific web experience, and consulted with product manufacturing and marketing to develop variable and fixed index annuity solutions for the advisory space.

Prior to Prudential, Sinclair held similar RIA leadership roles at Lincoln Financial Group and Jefferson National (now Nationwide). He began his focus on the RIA market at AEGON/Transamerica’s Advisor Resources Division, and has been in the financial services industry since 2000. Sinclair has an undergraduate degree from Hanover College, and holds the Series 7, 66, and 26 FINRA securities registrations.
