Sammons Financial Group, Inc. Creates New Role Aligning Business and Technology Operations

Aaron Witt named to position as vice president, Chief Digital and Data Officer

West Des Moines, Iowa – July 19, 2023 – Sammons Financial Group has named Aaron Witt to a new position as vice president and Chief Digital and Data Officer. The appointment will focus on bringing business, technology, and operations closely together to transform agent and customer experiences. The concept builds upon the company’s Vision 2025 plan and is specifically targeted at using new and emerging digital technology to elevate the agent and customer experience as they work with Sammons Financial Group’s member companies.


Previously, Witt served as an associate vice president in the Sammons Independent Annuity Group business line where he focused on advanced analytics for annuity products. As vice president, Chief Digital and Data Officer, Witt will oversee the seamless integration of technology for the life insurance and annuity product lines. He will work with both the Midland National and North American product offerings and its sales and distribution relationships. Witt will report directly to Teri Ross, president, Sammons Financial Group’s Shared Services business line.

Since joining Sammons Financial Group in 2019, Witt has been instrumental in enabling new capabilities to support the end-to-end agent and employee experience for Sammons Independent Annuity Group. His work includes launching the Midland+ and North American+ sites to enable new business and agent contracting trackers in real time.


“Aaron has also played a key role in multiple cross-functional initiatives, including the vision and roadmap for our Customer Service Modernization initiative,” Ross said. “He is a critical stakeholder in helping to define the needs for customer identity and access management. He also routinely consults and provides guidance on enabling and accelerating new capabilities. His business acumen, technical and digital expertise, deep understanding of data, and keen ability to evaluate business capabilities make him a perfect fit for this new role.”


Witt will begin his new role immediately by partnering with Sammons Financial Group business units, divisions, and strategic leaders across the organization with a focus to align digital and data initiatives with company goals. As a close partner to the information technology team, he will drive the development and implementation approach for innovative digital products, services, and solutions, and build upon the company’s enterprise data strategy including governance and analytics.
