Sammons Financial Group Has a Special Gift for Sioux Falls’ Charities

Company donates $225,000 to 29 South Dakota nonprofits this Giving Tuesday

Sioux Falls, S.D. – November 28, 2023 – Sammons® Financial Group, Inc. announced a special Giving Tuesday donation. Twenty-nine different nonprofits serving the greater Sioux Falls area will receive funding totaling $225,000. Volunteers of America will specifically receive a check at a special event.

“November is a month for us all to be thankful and give back. At Sammons Financial Group, our Community Involvement Committee does just that by providing funds in the community we all call home,” said Rachelle Tieszen, vice president, human resources. “We are so grateful for the many organizations that meet the needs in our community at this critical time of year.”

The 28 additional organizations will receive donations this Giving Tuesday, November 28:

The Giving Tuesday donation is in addition to $215,000 that was distributed since September as part of the employee-led Community Impact Challenge. In total, Sammons Financial Group has contributed $440,000 to South Dakota non-profit organizations through these two combined efforts. Sioux Falls is home to more than 600 on-site and remote Sammons Financial employees.

“In addition to our Giving Tuesday donation, our annual Community Impact Challenge offers each employee the opportunity to nominate and vote on how our dollars can be invested back into the community,” Tieszen said. “Through the Community Impact Challenge, our employees promote a charity close to their heart for a financial gift from the company. Our employees’ spirit of selflessness deserves recognition as they make a positive impact on the lives of others through their volunteerism in the community.”
